Energy efficient, environmentally sound and rugged , simple operation with Solar Panels or Generators
Overall, we have designed the system to:
- Rugged maintenance free deep cycle batteries
- use components that consume the minimum energy possible
- charge quickly while traveling with a vehicle
- charge overnight when at a powered site
- charge easily from a solar panel
- charge simply from a generator
1. Rugged maintenance free deep cycle batteries
The core to the system is the batteries used. We use Absorbed Glass Matt (AGM) 12V Batteries as standard in our Camperss. The capacity starts at 70Ah and by increasing the number of batteries can be increased to 210Ah.
These batteries are rugged and environmentally safe. They are maintenance free and can be stored for lengthy periods without damage.
We install them in a dual configuration so that in the unlikely event there is a failure, you can continue to operate on a lower capacity.
AGM batteries effectively double usable capacity because they can be safely discharged to a lower level. This means that you get the following capacity from Kimberley Kamper AGM batteries compared to conventional lead acid batteries.
NOTE: Discharging AGM Batteries below 50% will shorten cycle life
